Our Story

Ripples first opened its doors as a restaurant in 1989, with Des Mc Gettigan and wife Louise as the proprietors.

The restaurant was very successful from the outset, however as our family began to grow we decided to close the restaurant and focus on family life.

The desire to run our own restaurant never went away and we re-opened what began as a 20 seater restaurant, and over the years it has developed into a 100 seater restaurant and bar.

The location on the banks of Mulroy Bay is truly magnificent. It is a family run restaurant with me Des and, daughter Karen at the helm in the kitchen,

while my wife acts as manager, and son Mark meeting and greeting the guests.

We are renowned for our fresh, home cooked food, serving fresh seafood, steaks, chicken, crispy duck and much much more.

As much as possible our ingredients are sourced locally, not only to support the local industry, but to ensure quality and freshness of our food.

Fresh Scallops and Mussels are sourced from Mulroy Bay, and all our meat and poultry products are 100% Irish with full traceability.

We cater for all occasions, Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, holy communions etc.

Menu options can be discussed on a one-to-one basis to come up with a menu to suit all tastes and budgets for your event.

The restaurant is fully licensed and child friendly. We offer Lunch, Dinner and A La Carte Menus, also a Snack Menu throughout the day.
